As of 2009 only one training organisation in West Africa provides the training: WAASPS based at Kpong Airfield in the Eastern Region of Ghana (30km south of Akosombo).

Depending on the license type and country's regulatory requirements, it is generally a flight carried out solo, near the end of student training towards a Private Pilots License (PPL) or Private Ultralight Pilot license.
