The Málaga-Puertollano oil pipeline was completed by 1920, permitting oil exports directly from the port.
In 1348 however, the Black Death devastated the village, killing all but 13 inhabitants.
It is located on the Avenida de Puertollano, and is owned by the municipality of Ciudad Real.
Since 1985, is a Teacher of Ballet, giving classes in Odessa (Ukraine), Saratov and Saint Petersburg (Russia), Madrid, Valencia, Puertollano and Lugo (Spain) and Ashiya and Nishinomiya (Japan)
