The ensemble's objective is to approach the tango repertoire ranging from its earliest manifestations ("guardia vieja") to contemporary pieces, such as those of Piazzolla, Blázquez, Pujol, etc.

Pujol was born as son of Antonio Pujol Martorell, a farmer who came from Andratx, and of his Mexican wife Dolores Jiménez.
From 1977 to 1980, Pujol was Minister without portfolio in the Provisional government of Catalonia, presided by Josep Tarradellas.
They also perform the Missa pro Defunctis by Mateo Romero, Music for the Corpus of Joan Pau Pujol, and the mass O Gloriosa Virginum by Antonio Rodríguez de Hita.
The next year he won the Emilio Pujol Guitar Competition (Italy) and the Andrés Segovia Competition (Velbert, Germany).
