Ashok was born in the Jugnauth Family, one of the most powerful families in Mauritius at Palma, Quatre Bornes.
They will therefore administer the cities namely Port-Louis, Quatre Bornes and Rose Hill while the only city administered by the government will be Vacoas-Phoenix.
For the general elections the town is classified as the No 18 constituency known as Belle Rose and Quatre Bornes and the No 14 Savanne and Black River constituency.
