Daterape was a band featuring Thighpaulsandra, David Ryder-Prangley (Rachel Stamp), Martin Shellard and Jon Lee (Feeder).
The band subsequently toured on the success of the single, this time with new guitarist Matt Platts, supporting other 1990s UK indie bands including Rachel Stamp, Jolt, Snow Patrol, Monsoon Bassoon, Cay and Seafood.

The band formed in 2000, and have played alongside acts such as Rachel Stamp, The Wildhearts, Ginger, The Quireboys, Enuff Z'Nuff, Electric Eel Shock, Tyla from Dogs D'Amour, Murderdolls, Trashlight Vision and Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
To promote the forthcoming release of Rachel Stamp's live album, "Stampax", the band released a limited edition CD single of "Hey Hey Michael You're Really Fantastic", recorded live during their "Hymns For Strange Children Tour" of the UK in 2000.
"My Sweet Rose" was the first Rachel Stamp release via Bitch Vinyl and distributed by Pinnacle across the UK.
