The band undertook an extensive UK tour in 1978, which also featured Trevor White (a member of both Sparks and Jet) and Chris Gent (saxophone/backing vocals), but Gordon left soon after.

In 1983, Buckler joined 'Time U.K.', featuring himself, Jimmy Edwards and Ray Simone, both formerly of 'MasterSwitch', Danny Kustow from the Tom Robinson Band and former Sparks/Radio Stars bassist Martin Gordon.
The film sticks closely to the plot of the book, but is lighter in tone, and capitalizes on the glamour of broadcasting by including a number of cameo appearances by radio stars, among them Hannen Swaffer, Gillie Potter, Elisabeth Welch and Percival Mackey.
Their home was the Sparrow's Nest at Lowestoft, an entertainment centre-cum-theatre appropriated by the Royal Navy, which also attracted theatre and radio stars such as Eric Barker.
