Yesaji Kank originated from Bhutonde, a village situated at the extreme foothold of Rajgad.

Kank was born in the home of "Sir Patil" of the Bhutonde village located in the foothills of Rajgad.

The fort, which was previously known as Kondhana, was controlled by Mirza Raja Jai Singh, and was strategically located amidst other forts in the region such as Rajgad, Purandar and Torna.
The Sahyadri range to the west of Pune in Velha taluka is split, and the forts Rajgad and Torna are on one branch while Forts Sinhagad, Purandar, Vajragad and Malhargad on the other.
Saibai died at the age of 26 at Rajgad Fort while Shivaji was making preparations for his meeting with Afzal Khan at Pratapgad.
