The eldest of four children of Joseph Charles Duncan, a banker, and Mary Isadora Gray, he was the brother of Isadora Duncan and Raymond Duncan.
In 1960s Paris, the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard introduced his performance 'Brother of Isidora' at the Academy of Raymond Duncan, later, Louis Aragon would introduce another performance and finally, Marcel Duchamp honoured him with a 'medallic' object.

She met Raymond Duncan, brother of Isadora, at this same party, who congratulated her on a wonderful performance, and again she was back into her passion for dance.
