In March 1989, Castellanos would begin wrestling as "Psicosis" for the local promotion in his native Baja California, where some of his biggest feuds pitted him against El Hijo del Santo and Rey Mysterio, Jr. He would eventually wrestle Mysterio Jr. over five hundred times throughout this career, according to Joey Styles at ECW One Night Stand.
In 1999 Reade went under the ring 4x4 and debuted in World Championship Wrestling as a member of Master P's No Limit Soldiers along with BA, Chase Tatum, Konnan, Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Swoll.
He then wrestled on WWE Velocity for the next few weeks, leading to a match with Rey Mysterio on SmackDown.
