Eugen Bleuler

In 1886 Bleuler became the director of a psychiatric clinic at Rheinau, a hospital located in an old monastery on an island in the Rhine.

Lauchringen

A first written source for the part of Oberlauchringen ca be found in a document of the monastery of Rheinau in 860.

Mammern

In 1667 the Herrschaft was acquired by Wolf Rudolf Reding, who sold it in 1687 to Rheinau.

Mannheim–Stuttgart high-speed railway

The longest tunnel of this kind was the Pfingstberg tunnel, which leads through a forest, a declared water protection zone, near Mannheim-Rheinau.
