3 unusual facts about Rheinzabern

Ancient Roman pottery

The latter technique was particularly popular at the East Gaulish workshops of Rheinzabern, and was also widely used on other pottery types.

Ferdinand von Malaisé

Ferdinand was the son of Christoph Malaisé (10 December 1773, St Menges, France - 25 April 1852, München, Germany) and Magdalena Stephani (17 October 1769, Mainz, Germany - 12 January 1821, Rheinzabern, Germany).

Visucius

In a Latin inscription from Rheinzabern, Germany (CIL 13, 5991) dedicated to Jupiter, Apollo, and Visucius, the name SOLI T... appears after Visucius, perhaps originally standing for Solitumarus, an epithet of Mercury's in an inscription (AE 2001, 1388; AE 2008, 901) found at Chateaubleau, France.
