Na Gavgah is a habitat for Rhododendron luteum, which grows in only a few locations in Slovenia.
The area harbors the only European colony of the plant "Rhododendron luteum", which favors the acidic soil.
The plant is depicted instead of the crown above the coat of arms of the Local Community of Boštanj.
