After extensive touring in New Zealand he moved to Sydney, Australia where he played with many top jazz musicians including Don Burrows.

Former Mahavishnu Orchestra bass guitarist Rick Laird had one, R. "Skeet" Curtis played one (and still has it) while touring with Parliament, Vincent Gallo used one in the New York City noise band Gray and Nick Lowe used a Curlee fretless on a few assignments.
He has collaborated with diverse artists, including jazz-fusion pioneer Rick Laird of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, classical guitarist Scott Tennant, rock guitarist Paul Gilbert, and the late legendary jazz great Ted Greene.
