Edward Loranger House

Edward Loranger was one of the most prominent landowners and architects in early Monroe County, and much of the county was settled on his land along the River Raisin.

First Presbyterian Church of Blissfield

In 1883, the building itself was moved slightly to its current position just north of U.S. Route 223 near the River Raisin.

River Raisin

In 2013 U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, along with the entire Michigan delegation, introduced a resolution (H. Res. 37, 113th Congress) to honor the 200th anniversary of the battles at the River Raisin.


National Register of Historic Places listings in Monroe County, Michigan

Located along the River Raisin, the park, which is still under construction, will commemorate the Battle of Frenchtown during the War of 1812.

Henry Brush

When Brush and his company of Ohio volunteers were near the River Raisin, he sent word to General Hull that he should be reinforced and protected by an escort, as it was understood that some British soldiers and a confederate band of Shawnee Indians, all under command of Tecumseh, had crossed the Detroit river with the intention of intercepting the provision train under Captain Brush.
