Michael George Glazebrook was a Headmaster of Clifton College, later a Canon of Ely, and is reputed to have once held the world record for the high jump.

However, on 22 March 1875 Glazebrook is said to have jumped 1.80m (equally a mark set by Marshall Brooks) which at the time was the highest thus far attained.
