The biggest employer in the area was a glass factory in Rokitno (Рокитне) 8 km north of town, employing 400 workers.
The list of villages from the area that managed to defend themselves successfully against the genocide being committed by the Ukrainians include: Pańska Dolina, Zaturce, Huta Stara, Zasmyki, Dąbrowa, Dederkały, Rybcza, Jagodzin-Rymacze, Przebraże, Rożyszcze, Antonówka Szepelska, Bielm-Spaszczyzna, Witoldówka, Ostróg; as well as Młynów, Kurdybań Warkowicki, Lubomirka, Klewań, Rokitno, Budki Snowidowickie, and Osty.
Kurdybań Warkowicki was one of the only a handful of surviving units, among them: Młynów, Lubomirka, Klewań, Rokitno, Budki Snowidowickie and Osty.
