The album was recorded in the band's rehearsal space in Rosyth with Dave Eringa, the producer of the previous albums, 100 Broken Windows and The Remote Part.

Rosyth

This service was discontinued by Superfast Ferries in September 2008, but recommenced in May 2009 under the new operator Norfolkline.


Arthur Winnington-Ingram

Chaplain from 1901 to the London Rifle Brigade and London Royal Naval Volunteers, he visited the troops on both the Western Front and at Salonika and the Grand Fleet at Rosyth and Scapa Flow.

Ballingry

At the end of the war in 1918, K5 was part of the 12th Submarine Flotilla based at Rosyth, along with six others of the K-class.

Into the Valley

Local legend still persists that the valley mentioned is a reference to the village of High Valleyfield, known locally as "the Valley", a village with a reputation for "mini warfare" between its own residents and those of nearby towns and villages (namely Torryburn, Rosyth, Oakley and Inverkeithing), near Skids' home town of Dunfermline.

MV Atlantic Vision

On May of the same year Superfast IX, alongside her sister MS Superfast X, started a new service for Superfast, connecting Rosyth (Scotland) to Zeebrugge (Belgium).

On the outbreak of World War I he was invited by the Government to become Chairman of the Scottish National Housing Company, which was entrusted with the construction of housing at Rosyth, then the new naval base.
