Wyllie's work can also be seen in the Clyde Clock (depicting a clock on running legs), outside Buchanan bus station and in the Monument to Maternity (depicting a huge nappy pin), on the site of the former Rottenrow Maternity Hospital.

Following the Bruce Report in 1945, Townhead was made one of many Comprehensive Development Areas (CDAs), which saw all of the slums cleared and the area rezoned for educational use in preparation for the former Royal College of Science and Technology’s growth into a university.

Glasgow Royal Maternity Hospital

The building did however fall into serious disrepair by the latter part of the 20th century, and by 2001 the hospital had moved once again to a new extension built onto Glasgow Royal Infirmary, the Rottenrow site being sold to the University of Strathclyde.
