In 2003 Verena Wagner Lafferentz attended the International Richard Wagner Congress held in Copenhagen, attending as guest of honour a performance of Die Walküre by the Royal Danish Opera with Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, the patron of the Wagner Congress, Wolfgang and Gudrun Wagner, and Birgit Nilsson.
She attended Toneheim Folkehøgskole in 2000 together with Erlend Tvinnereim, Marit Tøndel Bodsberg, Audun Iversen, Lina Johnson, Kjetil Støa, Nina Sæterhaug among others, where her formal musical studies continued, and now she is a graduate of Tromsø musikkonservatorium, University of Tromsø 2003, Stavanger Musikkonservatorium, University of Stavanger 2005, and The Royal Danish Opera Academy.
He became internationally known for his production of Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Royal Danish Opera (released on DVD as "The Copenhagen Ring", which won the Gramophone Award in 2009 for Best DVD).
