They play in the Spanish league system, because they are registered with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, but the team is mostly composed of players with Andorran nationality.

In early January 2008, although initially acquitted by the Royal Spanish Football Federation's Competition Committee and Appeal Committee, he received a two-year ban for having tested positive for Finasteride in the previous year, whilst a Ciudad Murcia player.
On 28 November 1979, aged only 15, he made his professional debut, appearing with the Asturias side in a Copa del Rey contest against Club Deportivo Turón, as the Royal Spanish Football Federation did not allow clubs to field players from the reserves, which were able to also compete in the tournament in that period.
Currently he is president of the football club UE Sant Andreu from Barcelona and Vice President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (Real Federación Española de Fútbol, RFEF), and was responsible for Mr. Ángel María Villar electoral campaign.
