On August 7, 2008, at the beginning of 2008 South Ossetia war Kurashvili told Rustavi 2 television that Georgian forces were moving to "establish constitutional order in the Ossetian region."
Many foreign journalists were exposed to pressure from the security forces and the materials were confiscated from TV crews from ZDF and ARD (Germany), APTN (USA), and Rustavi 2 (Georgia).
After six seasons known as "Geostari/ჯეოსტარი", the program is to be redeveloped in 2012 by Rustavi 2 to the new title of "საქართველოს ვარსკვლავი/Sakartvelos Varskvlavi" (Georgian Star) was to premiere in September however was delayed to the 2012 Georgian protests, however the series will debut on October 8 implementing the current Hall Of Idols format.
In all, there were 32 members in NCPSU, mainly in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, but there were also groups in Kirov (2 members), Leningrad (2 members), in Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk, 2 members), in Georgia (Tbilisi and Rustavi, 2 members), in Latvia (Riga, 1 member).
