A native of Rybník, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia), Valo emigrated to the United States with his family at the age of six.

Antoni Woryna (born 15 February 1941 in Rybnik, Poland - died 14 December 2002) was an international motorcycle speedway rider who appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times, and was the first Polish rider to win a medal at that level when he won the bronze medal in 1966.
The high point of this dispute was the murder of the Cieszyn Duke's eldest son Przemysław on 1 January 1406 in the town of Rybnik, during his return from Gliwice to Cieszyn, by a certain Martin Chrzan, who acted under instructions of Duke Jan II.
It is located on Rybnik Plateau (Płaskowyż Rybnicki), in close vicinity to such cities, as Rybnik, Wodzisław Śląski, Racibórz, Radlin, Rydułtowy, Jastrzębie-Zdrój and Żory.

In 1999 Jerzy Buzek government restored Rybnik county along with other counties.
