He has translated into Spanish the work of several leading Belarusian prose writers and poets (such as Jakub Kolas, Janka Kupala, Ryhor Baradulin, Vasil Bykau) and into Belarusian and Russian the works of García Lorca, Neruda, and many others, while continuing to write his own poetry in Spanish.
Ryhor Baradulin is a member of the Belarusian Writer's Union and the Belarusian PAN-center (and was President of the center during 1990-1999), a member of the BPF Party.
In 2009 in the section “Belarusian books overview” one book of Nyaklyayew’s poems and prose works was edited with the preface written by Ryhor Baradulin.
In particular, the renowned writers Vasil Bykau, Ales Adamovich and Ryhor Baradulin have issued a public appeal in favour of making Vajacki marš the state anthem of Belarus.
