Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) is the former IDE from Microsoft, and was used to develop data analysis and Business Intelligence solutions utilizing the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Integration Services.
Biml authored BI assets can currently be used by the BIDS Helper add-on for Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) and the Varigence Mist integrated development environment; both tools translate Biml metadata into SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) assets for the Microsoft SQL Server platform.
It supports connection to following data sources: MSSQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server Analysis Services, Microsoft Excel, Amazon Redshift, CSV files.
In this configuration TFS can be distributed across multiple servers for redundancy, plugged into Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or 2013, SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services.
