Khamti people

The Khamti, or Tai Khamti, Thai: (ชาวไทคำตี่, Chao Tai Kam Dtee) as they are also known, are a sub-group of the Shan people found in the Sagaing Division, Hkamti District in northwestern Burma as well as Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh in India.

Naga people

The Naga tribes live in the Indian states of Nagaland, Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh and the northwestern hill tracts of Burma, such as the Naga Self-Administered Zone (formerly in Sagaing Division).

Shweli River

It flows through northern Shan state and Sagaing Division, and enters the Ayeyarwady at Inywa, 60 km north of Tagaung and south of Katha.

Siyin Ywa

Siyin Ywa or Thing Unau, also known as Gyothonbin, in Burmese is a large village under the present Sagaing Division of Burma, adjoining to Chin State.

Thein Sein

In 1988, he served as a major for Sagaing Division's 55th Light Infantry Division and later served as a commander for Sagaing Division's 89th Infantry Battalion in Kalay Township.
