In 1970, Boyle was awarded a life peerage as Baron Boyle of Handsworth, of Salehurst in the County of Sussex and became Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds.
He appeared at Hastings Music Festivals by the time he was 14, and then became deputy church organist at Salehurst.
The horse was named after a street close to Jackson's Salehurst office, near London Waterloo station.
