Burt Brent

As an avid naturalist, Brent is a member of the Society of Animal Artists and has created sculptures of numerous of birds and mammals; some of these are large bronze sculptures which he has donated for his young patients and other children to enjoy in the San Diego Zoo and San Francisco Zoo.

Citizens Lobbying for Animals in Zoos (CLAZ) is community based organization lobbying to improve conditions for the animals in San Francisco Zoo.

The Marine Mammal Center

In May, 2011, the San Francisco Zoo accepted two such animals, both are male California Sea Lions; named Silent Knight and Henry.
