Sometime before May 1141 he and his elder brother, Sancho II, helped their father restore the town of Simorre after it was devastated by a fire.
At the same time Sancho II was appointed Bishop of Huesca, and hastened to request the Pope Alexander II to confirm the decisions of the council.
Santiago del Arrabal is a church in Toledo, Spain, built in 1245-48, at the orders of Sancho II, on the site of an older church and a mosque that is known to been used since 1125.
Pope Innocent IV then ordered Sancho II to be removed from the throne and be replaced by the Count of Boulogne.
