Angus Wells

Wells wrote under numerous pseudonyms, including Andrew Quiller (with Kenneth Bulmer and Laurence James), James A. Muir, Charles R. Pike (with Kenneth Bulmer and Terry Harknett), William S. Brady (with John Harvey), J. D. Sandon (with John Harvey), Charles C. Garrett (with Laurence James), Richard Kirk (with Robert Holdstock), J. B. Dancer (with John Harvey), and Ian Evans.

John Sandon

The son of Barbara (neé Starkey) and Henry Sandon, a notable authority on Royal Worcester porcelain, John Sandon left school aged 16 and went to work at Phillips in London in 1975 where he quickly established himself as a porcelain specialist.

Sandon has been involved in excavations at the Royal Worcester factory site and has authored or co-authored several books on the factory.

Sandon was born in Chelsea and educated at Chelsea State School and Mordialloc Chelsea High School.

Slocan Lake

The mountains to the east of Slocan Lake were the focus of the silver rush known as "the Silvery Slocan", during which steamboats and railways penetrated the Kootenay Range east of the lake to Sandon, the "capital" of the rush and the destination of three railways, two from the direction of Slocan Lake via Carpenter Creek, the other via Retallack Pass from Kaslo on Kootenay Lake.

It goes to Waniora Point, where a plaque commemorates Captain James Cooks first landing attempt, and then along the coast to Sandon/Bulli Point, site of migratory bird refuge at Tramway Creek.
