William Donald Scherzer, an American engineer (known for the "Scherzer"-system of Bascule bridges)
It manufactures some 60,000 musical instruments every year under the Buffet Crampon, Besson, B&S, Antoine Courtois, Hans Hoyer, J. Keilwerth, Meinl Weston, Scherzer and W. Schreiber brands.
Here Scherzer became friends with Moritz Wagner and together with him travelled through North and Central America and West Indies (1852–1855).
Scherzer had a dominant performance in Game 1 of the 2013 ALDS, recording 11 strikeouts and giving up just one hit through the first six innings, before surrendering a 2-run homer to Yoenis Céspedes.

Scherzer then loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the eighth, but wriggled out of trouble by striking out Josh Reddick and Stephen Vogt, then getting Alberto Callaspo to line out to center field.
