It airs an Oldies music format featuring satellite-fed programming from Scott Shannon's The True Oldies Channel from ABC Radio.
On May 7, 2009, the KKTX-FM 96.1 FM simulcast ended when the station started syndicating Scott Shannon's "The True Oldies Channel and picking up the KDOK call sign dropped by 92.1KTBB-FM in Tyler, Texas.
The first morning zoo program, focusing on the zany interactions of two hosts, was conceived and performed by Scott Shannon and Cleveland Wheeler of WRBQ-FM in Tampa, Florida, known as Q105 FM.
After leaving the army, Shannon worked full-time in radio at WABB in Mobile, Alabama, where he acquired the name Super Shan.

He began his radio career during his own Army stint at WFBS-1450 AM in Spring Lake, North Carolina (now WFBX).

Shannon is perhaps most famous within the radio broadcasting industry for his work on Z100 in New York City in the mid to late 80's.

Formerly WPKM and later WEZX, 104.7 switched to a rock ’n roll format as WRBQ ("Q105") in December 1973, home to the Q-Morning Zoo, Cleveland Wheeler, Scott Shannon, Dave Saint, Jack Harris, Bill Garcia, Uncle Johnny, Alan O’Brien, Tedd Webb, Pat McKay, and a host of other top talents.
