Alfred Cheetham

Cheetham enlisted in the Mercantile Marine and was serving as Second Officer on the S.S. Prunelle (London) when on 22 August 1918, he was killed when the ship was torpedoed in the North Sea by a German U-boat.

Muller Point

Surveyed by the SGS in the period 1951-57, and named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Johannes Muller, Second Officer and navigator of the Deutschland during the German Antarctic Expedition, 1911-12.

The casualties included Chief Officer Stephen George of Wales, Second Officer John Simpson of Liverpool, Third Officer J. Meyler of London, Chief Engineer James Sturrock, Second Engineer P.
