Seddon, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, named after Richard Seddon
The suburb was earlier known as Belgravia but is now called Seddon after Richard Seddon, the New Zealand Prime Minister from 1893 to 1906, who resided there before he moved to Bendigo and later to New Zealand.

Born in Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia, Seddon was a descendant of William Alexander, Earl of Stirling.
The current church, which was built in the middle of the 19th century by the Llandaff diocesan architects, Prichard and Seddon, replaced one built a few years earlier, which was apparently sold to the next village of Leckwith, and moved piece-by-piece to be erected there.
While at the University of California, Seddon was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

It was on this mission that Dr. Seddon took the badge of her sorority Sigma Kappa into space.
The son of a British army officer, Seddon went to Dauntsey's School, an independent co-educational boarding school in the village of West Lavington in Wiltshire.
After a short time working on his grandfather's farm at Barrow Nook Hall, Seddon was an apprentice at Daglish's Foundry in St Helens.

He is also noted for his support of New Zealand's own "imperial" designs – Seddon believed that New Zealand should play a major role in the Pacific Islands as a "Britain of the South".
The captaincy of the team, following Seddon's death, passed onto Andrew Stoddart.
His maternal uncle was Robert Seddon, who (after receiving Presbyterian ordination on 14 June 1654) became minister at Gorton, Lancashire and Langley, Derbyshire, where he was silenced in 1662.

Anne Seddon Kinsolving Brown of Providence, Rhode Island, USA, began collecting miniature toy soldiers on her honeymoon to Europe in 1930, eventually amassing a collection of over 6,000 figures; these are on display at the Anne S. K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University Library in Providence.
Wood was endorsed by Prime Minister Richard Seddon as the government candidate for the Palmerston (now Palmerston North) electorate in the 1899 general election, a measure by which Seddon demonstrated his opposition to Frederick Pirani.
