Servilia of the Junii, a fictionalized depiction of Servilia Caepionis in the Rome 2005-2007 TV series
•
Servilia Caepionis (107-42 BC), mistress of Caesar and mother of his assassin, Marcus Junius Brutus
She made her debut at the Festival International d'Art Lyrique at Aix-en-Provence in July 2005 in the role of Servilia in a new production of La clemenza di Tito.
She appeared in roles of Mozart's operas, such as Pamina in The Magic Flute (at the Salzburg Festival 1991 and recorded with Georg Solti), Servilia in La clemenza di Tito (recorded with Nikolaus Harnoncourt) or the Countess in Il nozze di Figaro in Glyndebourne and with the Zurich Opera.
In the original version of Vivaldi’s opera Tito Manlio (Mantua, 1719), Servilia’s aria ‘Tu dormi in tante pene’ also contains an obbligato part for viola d'amore written in scordatura notation.
A very fictionalized Servilia appears in The Gates of Rome, by Conn Iggulden and the rest of books of the Emperor Series of Novels.
