Foad began his journey with music by learning to play the Setar, despite the fact that learning an instrument was very difficult due to the prohibition of carrying musical instruments in small towns.
She now teaches Setar to the growing number of Iranian women who are interested in becoming musicians.
He conducted a fusion concert and transcribed the works of the Setar virtuoso Massoud Shoari for the large classical-traditional Ensemble and gave concert in 2003 at Tehran Opera House (Vahdat Hall).
This album, which includes compositions from Jalal Zolfonoun, Shahram Nazeri as well as Reza Ghassemi, is believed to have the most influential effect on Iranian young artists who were reluctant to learn the Setar.

A multi-instrumentalist, trained in Shashmaqam at the Conservatory of Music in Dushanbe, he's well known for his works on the two-string dutar, ghijak, and setar which are popular instruments in Central Asia.
In fact, since Gol-e Sadbarg's success, the Setar evolved from the least to the most popular instrument in Iran.
Mohd Yusof was the Alma mater of Maktab Mahmoud, Alor Setar, Kedah and later he continued his study in Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah, Selangor.
Early in his life, Zaki attended school in Sultan Abdul Hamid College in Alor Setar, furthering his studies at Anderson School in Ipoh and finally in English College Johore Bahru.
