Herbert John Hodgson

After serving in the First World War, with Roy Manning Pike he printed the rare 1926 subscribers' edition of The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T. E. Lawrence.

Trained as a skilled printer, in 1923 Hodgson was contracted by Roy Manning Pike to help print the valuable subscribers' edition of The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T. E. Lawrence.

Tafilah

On January 25, 1918, Arab and Allied forces of the Arab Revolt under T.E. Lawrence and Prince Zeid bin Hussein destroyed a 900-strong Turkish force near Tafilah, which Lawrence referred to in his memoir Seven Pillars of Wisdom as "Tafileh".


Jackson Bentley

Robert Bolt's revision focused on Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom as its primary source; Thomas's character was scaled down, and his name changed.
