She appeared in the 1963 film Hootenanny Hoot (1963), sang on Shindig! (9/1/65), and won awards from the Academy of Country Music in 1966 (Most Promising Female Vocalist) and 1968 (Best Female Vocalist).
The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, performed a cover of this song on a 1964 telecast of the ABC TV series, Shindig!.
He was married to Dr Pepper Girl and Shindig star, Donna Loren, with whom he had three children, including songwriter and That Dog founder, Anna Waronker, and drummer, Joey, as well as a second daughter, Katie.
