At Shortlands, near Bromley, Kent, while in a period of preparation for Dorothy's wedding, she died of heart failure on 12 October 1887, aged 61.
In August 2010, his brother Steve Laore was elected first time Member of Parliament for the constituency of Shortlands, in the Western Province, but died suddenly just three weeks later.
Formerly a mechanic and businessman, and owner of a construction company, he defeated Augustine Taneko to become MP for the Shortlands constituency.
