Sir Edward Blackett, 4th Baronet (1719–1804), baronet and member of the British House of Commons for Northumberland
In 1757 Anne Douglas the heiress of Halton married Sir Edward Blackett and the castle remains a residence of the Blackett family.
Blackett was the eldest surviving son of William Blackett and his wife Elizabeth Kirkley.
In 1757 he married Anne Douglas, daughter of Oley Douglas and heiress of Matfen, Northumberland and was succeeded by their son William.
