Born on 26 Aug in 1965 to Dr.SP Hegde, an ayurvedic doctor at Sirsi, Vanalli sudied at Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Maharaja College and Manasagangothri at Mysore.

It is spoken in the regions of Sagar, Sirsi, Yellapur Siddapur, Honnavar, Kumta, Puttur, Gokarna etc. where there is a higher density of Havyakas in relation to other places.
The local deity of the village is Marikamba and a grand Marikamba fair, happens every 3 or 5 or 7 years, which is based on the local legend.One of its kind starts from Sirsi in Uttara Kannada passes through Sagara, Shivamogga and some other towns and villages and ends in Lakkavalli.
Although the rest of the movie is about this love triangle, the movie is generally noted for effectively capturing and utilising the natural beauty of the forests of Yana it's shoot around Sirsi, Uttara Kannada.
