Sivi, the son of Usinara and the originator of the Sivis in Sivapura, is celebrated in the Indian mythology for his generosity.
He also defeated many tribes and small dynasties, including the Dasarnas, the Sivis, the Trigartas, the Amvashtas, the Malavas, the five tribes of the Karnatas, the Madhyamakeyas, the Vattadhanas and the Utsava-sanketas.
Union Minister G. K. Vasan released the audio cassette of Sivi at a function held in Chennai on 29 July 2007 with attendees including directors Ameer, Subramaniam Siva and Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan.
