It was very popular at Lee's shows and a version of him singing it in 1960 on Australia's first Rock'n'Roll TV Show, 'Six O'Clock Rock' is still extant.
One evening, the BBC's Six O'Clock News headlines were disrupted by shouts of "Stop Clause 28!" and when the clause was debated in the Lords, protesting lesbians abseiled from the public gallery down to the floor of the House.
At this time, Lee made his first of many television appearances on the ABC's rock and roll television show Six O'Clock Rock as well as Bandstand compered by Brian Henderson.
The first episode also featured Reg Lindsay, The Australian All-Stars, The Graduates, Terry King and Johnny Ball.

Many entertainers got their first big exposure on 6 O'Clock Rock and these included Lonnie Lee, Barry Stanton and Warren Williams.
