The Aurora Inn renovation team included Pleasant Rowland, Katie Waller(Director of Aurora Foundation) and Steve McGlynn(Project Manager), Holt Architects of Ithaca, McGlynn Interiors of Skaneateles and Northeast Construction Services of Syracuse.
Syracuse was an active center for the abolitionist movement, due in large part to the influence of Gerrit Smith and a group allied with him, mostly associated with the Unitarian Church and their pastor The Reverend Samuel May in Syracuse, as well as with Quakers in nearby Skaneateles, supported as well by abolitionists in many other religious congregations.
Later on, she became a founder of Cello Divas and Quartos with which she appeared in such places as Banff, Norfolk, Roycroft, and Skaneateles as well as Aspen Music Festival.
The village of Skaneateles (population about 2500) is at the northern end of the lake.
Although situated in a remote corner of Onondaga County, somewhat isolated by two of the Finger Lakes, residential development is expanding into the town from adjacent Skaneateles.
The family settled at Skaneateles, N.Y. Later he moved to Cortland, New York and in 1869, he established the Cortland Wagon Company which manfacturered carriages, wagons and bicycles.
The road began and ended at the Cherry Valley Turnpike, part of the Great Western Turnpike system, and largely paralleled the Cherry Valley Turnpike between Skaneateles and Richfield Springs.
