Slicked-up Pup is a 1951 American one-reel animated cartoon and is the 60th Tom and Jerry cartoon directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and produced by Fred Quimby.

Fashion photography echoes the influence of this suit in shoots that feature androgynous models with slicked-back hair in a mannish three-piece suit, a style that was first popularised in photographs by Helmut Newton.
In the "Janet Evanovich" book, Plum Lucky, "Stephanie Plum", as the narrator states "They were middle-aged thugs, dressed in bowling shirts and Sansabelt slacks. Their hair was slicked back. Their shoes were scuffed and run down at the heel. Their guns weren’t as big as ours."
Smoked Hams was the first entry in the series (and the second "cartune" after Musical Moments from Chopin) that Woody's top knot was seen pushed forward, instead of slicked back (as usually seen during this period), for an extended period in some scenes.
