On 15 August 2009, the First Round draw for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 2009–10 was made on Soccer AM, where Oldham was drawn against League Two club Accrington Stanley.
In August 2009, it was revealed that Frijj were going to be the new sponsors of Soccer AM, a weekly football-based programme produced by British Sky Broadcasting, after signing a £2 million sponsorship deal.
It was greatly influenced by Soccer AM, the long-running programme in the UK with similar content.
It is also used as background music each week on the TV show Soccer AM for their British Armed Forces montage.

On 3 May 2008 edition of 'Soccer AM', Glen and fellow Hearts youngster Matej Rapnik, appeared on the sub program, 'Skill Skool', where they went head-to-head in a battle of skill.
Steve has lived in Manchester since 1995 and revealed on Soccer AM that he is a Wolverhampton Wanderers season ticket holder who sits in the Stan Cullis Stand.
