Souths Logan Magpies, a rugby league team based in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia
In March, Souths life member Russell Crowe made the Rabbitohs the first club team in Australia to be sponsored by a film, when he negotiated a deal to advertise his movie Cinderella Man on their jerseys.
During a Charity Shield game, playing for Souths, he had his nose broken by Dragons player David Barnhill.
Veivers' father Jack Veivers played rugby league for Souths and Queensland; his cousin Mick Veivers represented the Australia in the 1960s and his cousin Tom Veivers played Test cricket for Australia.
In late 2005 the Magpies began moving matches to Brandon Park in Acacia Ridge, just opposite the Archerfield Airport, to be nearer Souths Juniors.
