Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield achieved worldwide fame in 2013 for releasing a music video he recorded on the International Space Station of his version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" song.
It retells the story of Major Tom, from David Bowie's "Space Oddity," "Ashes to Ashes", and "Hallo Spaceboy," and Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home) Major Tom songs, but now from the perspective of the wife left at home.

It features vocals by Philip Oakey of The Human League on what is essentially an update of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and Elton John's "Rocket Man" The song was written by another Sheffield musician Jarvis Cocker of Pulp.
The studio recorded many of the world's most famous artists and recordings of the era including the Beatles' "Hey Jude", David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and Elton John's "Candle in the Wind".
In April 2009, she made a guest appearance on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation entitled "A Space Oddity" which also featured cameos by her former Galactica producer Ronald D. Moore and co-stars Grace Park and Rekha Sharma.
