On 9 December 2007, Rafael Sperafico, of the Sperafico racing family, died during the final race of the Stock Car Light 2007 season at Interlagos.
Rafael Sperafico (April 22, 1981 – December 9, 2007) was a Brazilian racing driver.
He belongs to the Sperafico family of racing drivers, which includes twin brother Ricardo (with whom his career has been closely linked), along with cousins Alexandre and the late Rafael.
The area of Farroupilha was first settled in 1875 by three families (Stefano Crippa, Tomazo Radaelli, and Luigi Sperafico) that immigrated from Milan, Italy.
