The original station building and ticket hall were red terracotta-clad buildings designed by Leslie Green, similar to neighbouring Holloway Road and Caledonian Road stations.

Bar billiards in its current form started in the UK in the 1930s when an Englishman David Gill saw Billiard Russe being played in Belgium and persuaded the Jelkes company of Holloway Road in London to make a similar table.

St Mary Magdalene Church, Holloway Road

Building & Gardens: The church was built in 1814 to a design by William Wickings as a chapel of ease to the parish church of St. Mary's farther south on Upper Street.

Whittington Park

Like the nearby Whittington Hospital, it is named after Dick Whittington, and a large topiary cat, in reference to Whittington's legendary pet, stands at the Holloway Road entrance.
