September 12 – Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning marry privately in St Marylebone Parish Church, London, departing for the continent a week later.
On 18 September 1839, the then Anne-Margaretta Scobell married Daniel Higford Davall Burr at St Marylebone Parish Church.
He died of tuberculosis in Holies Street, Cavendish Square, London, on 23 Dec. 1739, aged about 45, and was buried in Marylebone church.
She died on 28 December 1818 and she was interred with her husband at St Marylebone Parish Church.

The gardens were built in the 18th century as additional burial grounds for the St Marylebone Parish Church. The land on the south side was donated by Edward Harley, 2nd Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer in 1730.
